1st Welwyn BEAVER Scouts
is open to children aged 6 to 8 years old.

Currently, 1st Welwyn runs only one Beaver colony; they meet on Tuesdays in the Scout HQ in Welwyn Village.

Beavers wear a turquoise sweatshirt with navy blue activity trousers plus the 1st Welwyn scarf and a woggle, which will be provided when your child is enrolled. Your leader will advise about where and when to buy a uniform.

The Beaver Scout motto is "fun and friends". Through their activities, Leaders encourage them to learn about themselves, get to know people, explore, care and be creative. A typical evening includes noisy games, creative activities and stories. They welcome visitors - the local vet or fireman, for example - and go for days out. They are encouraged to make progress in their hobbies and try out activities that are new to them - and all the time, earn badges to wear on their uniforms.
